Cloosiv Raises $1M Series Seed to Accelerate Growth

CHARLOTTE, NC — Cloosiv, an app that lets you order ahead for coffee and snacks from independent coffee shops, has announced $1 million in new funding from Paul Graham, Louis Beryl, Avichal Garg and other angel investors.

“This investment will allow the company to move faster toward our goal of building the largest network of independent coffee shops in the country,” said Tim Griffin, CEO at Cloosiv.

Accelerating Growth

The Series Seed funding comes on the heels of Cloosiv completing participation in the California-based accelerator Y Combinator, a program that lasts 3 months and culminates in a “Demo Day,” where the startups present their traction to a select group of investors.

Cloosiv’s Demo Day presentation kicked-off a frenzy of interest from angel investors including Paul Graham, the founder of Y Combinator, as well as current and former founders like Avichal Garg (Spool), Brad Powers (Passport), Roger Dickey (Gigster) and Louis Beryl (Earnest).

“The Cloosiv team is building an open platform with the necessary tools to empower the global retail economy, while simultaneously delighting consumers every day. This winning combination, in addition to Tim’s long-term vision and day-to-day execution, made investing in Cloosiv a no brainer,” shared Beryl.

Product and Support Improvements

The company will use the funds to introduce new app features, in addition to expanding support for active coffee shops. The company says it has begun implementing a new onboarding experience that includes a kick-off call with a customer experience specialist, in order to review software functionality and share best practices prior to a coffee shop launching with Cloosiv.

“We’re focused on providing a valuable service to coffee shops of all sizes, which we’re able to deliver by continuously improving the product, and by providing the best possible support for our partners,” Griffin continued.

Cloosiv is now accepted by nearly 300 independent coffee shops and has processed over $400,000 in gross volume on behalf of those merchants.
